IRISH STOUT & JUNIPER BERRY SOAP (BLACK VELVET)

Handmade cold process soap with pure essential oils of Juniper Berry, Cedarwood, Pine, Cypress, Amyris (poor mans sandalwood) and Vetiver. Min weight 100g.

Irish Stout (Guiness) gives this bar it’s natural mocha colour and smooth texture. Charcoal is added to the top layer to create deep black peaks. Activated charcoal helps to absorb excess oil and reduce the appearance of oily skin. It’s also great for removing skin impurities.

Sweet, forest like and smoky aroma, especially suited to people who like woodland scents. A cleansing and nourishing soap with a smooth and fluffy lather.

To help your soap last longer, always allow water to drain away when not in use.

All soaps are made in small batches and cut by hand. There will be slight variations between shape & colour and no two bars are exactly the same.

What’s behind the name?

When Albert, the Prince Consort of Queen Victoria, died in 1861, legend has it a bar steward at Brooks Club in London came up with a mixture called ‘Black Velvet’ explaining that even a glass of bubbly should be in mourning and dressed in black.
