Seaweed contains humectants that draw in moisture from the environment and onto your skin. It contains amino acids and vitamin E which both help improve skin tone and pigmentation. It’s a skin smoother and plumper!

To help your soap last longer, always allow water to drain from bar when not in use.

What’s behind the name?

The west coast of Scotland holds a legend about two teenage sisters fighting for the affections of a local young fisherman. The younger sister was dark haired, and the older of the two, was fair. Both were beautiful.
After a long spell at sea, the fisherman came to shore and told the older sister he loved her. This caused the younger sister to become very jealous and plot her revenge.
One summers day, the younger sister stumbled her way along a stony beach draped in tendrils of delicious edible seaweed, towards a house occupied by a wise old woman.
“I want you to teach me a song,” said the girl.
“What kind of a song?” said the old woman.
“A song that will enchant whoever hears it, and make them fall asleep,” said the girl. So the old woman taught her an old Gaelic song, which she practiced until she knew it by heart.

Soon after, the younger girl asked her sister to join her on the seaweed strewn beach. They sat down on a rock watching the tide go out, and the younger sister took out a brush and began combing the older sisters hair. As she brushed through her beautiful blonde locks, she sang the song she had learned and her sister fell fast asleep.
Whilst brushing her sisters hair, she began weaving it amongst the seaweed on the rocks. She weaved and weaved until the tide came in, and then disappeared onto the cliff tops above, leaving her sisters sleeping body in a pool of sea water.

Just as the water began to envelop her sisters whole body, the younger sister saw two seals moving quickly to the shore. To her horror, both seals bobbed their heads up and looked straight at her. She tried to speak but couldn’t. As the seals turned and swam out to sea together, the girl threw herself off the cliff.

As she fell, the wind caught her woollen cape, and lifted her up. Whilst she floated through the sky, she became a cormorant, the ugliest bird of the sea, whose cry sounds like someone saying, ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.
The two seals were long gone. To this day you can hear the cormorant saying sorry to the seals, and whenever it gets too close you can see the seals snapping at the cormorant to keep it away. The delicious seaweed on the beach is never eaten anymore by the locals who live on the island. They call it fair maid’s tresses!
